Spencerport Central School District Facility Use Guidelines
Community Access and Policies
The Spencerport Central School District offers its facilities for community use when not required for school or school-sponsored activities. This initiative is designed to support educational, civic, and recreational purposes. Below are the guidelines and policies governing facility use by external groups.
The district welcomes local clubs, organizations, and community groups to utilize school facilities for various purposes. These include educational programs, civic engagements, and recreational activities that benefit the community.
A fee is generally charged for facility use by groups outside the school system. This fee structure helps maintain and support the upkeep of school facilities.
Groups interested in using school facilities must submit an application for approval. The approval process is typically completed within a week.
Applications must adhere to specific submission deadlines:
· April 15: For rentals covering July 1 - January 31.
· October 15: For rentals covering February 1 - June 30.
The school district enforces strict policies to ensure safety and proper usage of facilities. These policies include:
· No use of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs on property.
· Compliance with all building usage rules.
Facility users may be required to provide proof of insurance to cover potential liabilities. Additionally, users must agree to indemnify the district against any claims or damages resulting from the facility use.
Users are expected to follow key building rules, which include:
· Locking all doors after use.
· Turning off lights in unused areas.
· Ensuring toilets are flushed before leaving.
School-owned equipment and materials are ordinarily reserved for school-related purposes. However, exceptions may be made for public purposes that align with the welfare of the community.
By adhering to these guidelines, the Spencerport Central School District aims to ensure that its facilities remain accessible, safe, and well-maintained for community use.
