Helpful Homecoming Information
The tradition for Homecoming is for each team to participate in the Homecoming Parade that is held on the Saturday of Homecoming Weekend. The parade route starts at the end of West Avenue on the service road where the village garage is and ends at the High School. What needs to be done:
- What teams are participating in the Homecoming Parade – Varsity, JV, Mod A, Mod B
Teams do not need to have a float, they can you walk as a group. This gathering needs to be supervised by a parent or a coach. Check with your coach and see if he/she will be attending the parade and walking/riding with the players.
- Register your team for the parade using the link on this page.
- Volunteer Family to provide a truck and trailer that the team can ride on in the parade
- There are two options for float decoration. A family can host the team to decorate the float at their house or the float can be decorated during the line up before the parade begins.
- Create a sign up for families to donate decorations for the float, poster board to have each player make a sign for themselves to be attached to the float, balloons, streamers and any other decorations you would like. Music can also be played on the float. Hay bales are nice to have for the kids to sit on while riding the float.
- Teams also use this as an opportunity to have a team breakfast while decorating the float.
- The players ride the float to the High School parking lot. All floats must be taken apart in the High School parking lot or taken off sight to dismantle. All decorations and hay bales must be cleaned up they cannot be left in the high school parking lot.
- The parade time is dependent on the start of the Varsity Football. Once the official times for the weekend are announced an email will be sent out to all families.
